TAKSU Bali, 27 June to 27 July


TAKSU Bali is pleased to present ‘Nasi Campur’, a group show featuring 4 (four) Indonesian artists Dodit Artawan (Bali), Ketut Moniarta (Bali), Anton Subiyanto (Yogyakarta), Abdul Fattah (Yogyakarta), and Malaysian artist Najib Ahmad Bamadhaj (Kuala Lumpur). The artists will be present on the opening reception on Saturday, 27 June 2015.

Adopting the name of the traditional staple meal of Southeast Asia, Nasi Campur puts together the freshest mix of works in one plate. Nasi campur (‘mixed rice’ in Indonesian) is as diverse as the archipelago, with regional variations across the country. A nasi campur counter offers up to lots of different selection dishes, usually a blend between the local favorites and delicacies from the region.

Since its first debut in TAKSU KL in year 2005, Nasi Campur has become a signature annual exhibition in each of TAKSU’s three galleries. Offering a glimpse of TAKSU’s careful selection of works, Nasi Campur group show in TAKSU Bali utilize the same form of expression in painting, each artist take on their individual angles on contemporary art in modern society; and even in questioning the medium itself, the various artists allow their inquisitions take form in creating or simply questioning, through which the thought and questioning answers itself.


Exhibition runs from 27 June – 27 July 2015.
