Artists' Testimonials
Tony Twigg
Artist-in-residence 2005
My relationship with TAKSU has indeed been fruitful. More importantly, it has lead to a deeper engagement with the region generally and with Singapore's artists and galleries in particular. TAKSU and TARP has welcomed me into their world not as an Australian artist, but an artist who comes from Australia. In doing so TAKSU has permitted me to become part of our region by ignoring the narrow definitions of nationality in favour of the boarder ideals of art and the generosity of a shared life.

Artist-in-residence 2007
TARP has allowed me the opportunity to develop my practice and network with Taksu’s extensive stable of international artists. During my time in TARP, I have met artists from all over the world, from countries such as Canada, Philippines, Australia, Germany, Holland and The United States. This experience has truly encouraged cultural exchange and dialogue through art making. TARP has also allowed me to meet many art appreciators and collectors as many of TAKSU’s esteemed clientele have visited me during my time in the studio.

Through the generosity of this program, my network in the art world has expanded exponentially beyond any expectations I had 5 years ago. Art is a dialogue and through TARP my personal involvement in this dialogue has helped me gain a global perspective that I aim to keep expanding.
