Chris Cook
(b.1968, HONG KONG)
Chris is currently working in Hong Kong as a practicing artist and an art educator. Throughout her recent years living in Hong Kong she has also travelled frequently throughout southeast Asia, soaking up and drawing in their cultural and aesthetic values as well as their use of colour in art, architecture and artifacts.
The major subject of her work is colour and how colours respond to each other. Her current work uses grids to provide a basic structure of the work. Repeated shapes and colours are used to create harmony and contrast in the work, reflecting the environment she lives and moves in.
Chris Cook is proud to be a part of the TARP residency from the period between xxx to xxx.
