Solo Exhibition by Agnes Lau

TAKSU brings you “soul that repeats” by Agnes Lau, the solo exhibition by a young and emerging Malaysian contemporary artist.

The exhibition shows mainly two categories of works – ceramics and pencil drawings. Both types of work show endless repetition to lead the audience to experience his/her own creation of time and space. As the repeated movements in themselves have no specific definition to the audience, they can engage the works freely.

It is a physical ceremony where the artist puts visuals of lines and planes on a surface; using a minimum repertoire of visual elements aiming for maximum visual intensity. The focus of the works began to form when the artist starts to put the pencil onto her canvas; the lines and planes start to create rhythm (a textural system).

Soul that repeats runs from 28 September to 12 October 2022 at TAKSU Kuala Lumpur.
