Fudhail Said

b. 1997, Malaysia

With a diploma and bachelor’s degree in fine arts from UiTM Malaysia, Fudhail’s art is grounded in ambient atmospheres. Being exposed to the world of art at a young age, Fudhail pursued his passion and currently lives and works in Selangor, pursuing his career as a full-time artist.
In contrast to reality, which is rapid and ephemeral, Fudhail’s work is dedicated to capturing the moments of stillness in life, as he spotlights themes of reflection and introspection. Signature to his style, his portraits often cast shadows on the lower portion of the subject’s face, creating an air of contentment, mystery, and secrecy. With his work mainly being still-life portraits, his pieces reflect a certain silence – a silence and stillness inherent in life, existing despite its mercurial nature.
Fudhail has exhibited in several group exhibitions around Kuala Lumpur. He has participated in numerous art competitions, winning the Jury’s Pick & Consolation Prize in 2018, the Consolation Prize in the Student Category in 2020, and the Consolation Prize of Art Against AIDS by KAREX in 2022.
