Hannah Nazamil
b. 1995, Malaysia
Born in Seremban and with a masters in Fine Art and Technology from UiTM Malaysia, Hannah’s art is an exploration of the technical and creative possibilities around the use of ink dye, as well as an exploration of the world.
With skillful use of color, the dramatic medium reflects the push and pull between different fluids and material surfaces, opening up possibilities for various patterns, outlines, and negative spaces. Reflecting organic forms and patterns of nature, Hannah uses the medium of ink dye to create kaleidoscopic, one-of-a-kind pieces. Alluding to biological specimen studies, Hannah uses ink dye to capture the unpredictable beauty and fluidity of nature itself.
Participating in multiple exhibitions across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Indonesia, Hannah has participated in residencies, including the Saung Banon Arts Residency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Her selected group exhibitions include, ‘Cermin’ (2022), and ‘Art For All’ (2022), both held in Kuala Lumpur. As one of TAKSU’s emerging artists, Hannah’s artwork has been added to the vibrant facade at ELSE Retreats Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
