W. Rajaie

b. 1997, Malaysia

W. Rajaie is an emerging artist with a BA in Fine Arts from UiTM Malaysia. As an artist and designer, his work is his gesture as an artist confronting and grappling with reality.
W. Rajeie’s main medium is soil. In his work, the soil ‘poetically blooms’ with elements of chance, randomness, and an organic nature that emerges in a process centred around ‘togetherness’. W. Rajeie’s artwork deals with his perspective regarding the complexities and ambiguities of reality. Utilising nature as a frame, he engages with these perceptions through a romantic and poetic lens.
As an artist W.Rajaie has participated in multiple group exhibitions across Malaysia, including ‘Holes’, in Kuala Lumpur, and ‘Locals Only! 2021’ held at TAKSU Kuala Lumpur. With a growing list of accolades, he has participated in local and international competitions, including placing as a finalist in the 2018 OITA Asian Sculpture Competition in Japan. W.Rajaie’s work is featured on the walls of public and private collectors alike; his work can be found in UR-MU KL and the permanent collection of Else Hotel KL.
