Akhil Latiff

b. 2001, Malaysia

Akhil Latiff (b. 2001, Perak) received his BFA from UiTM Seri Iskandar, Perak in 2023. His practice engages painting and industrial materials such as concrete to examine the relationship between development, memory, and the gradual erosion of social landscapes. Drawing from his background as a firefighter, Akhil introduces a field-based perspective shaped by sites of crisis and disaster, his unique lens prompts new narrative directions in his work, reflecting the tense dialogue between structure, destruction, and resilience within the contemporary human environment.

Akhil has exhibited extensively locally. Recent notable achievements include the Penang Art District Spotlight 2025 finalist and receiving MR D.I.Y. Art Competition Creative Artist Award (2025).
