Charmaine Kamal (b. 1989, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)is a contemporary fibre artist based in Selangor. Since earning her BFA from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Penang in 2015 and founding Nurtureknots Studio in 2016, she has redefined textile art by merging technical precision with symbolic depth. Her practice transforms weaving into functional, “living” art inspired by nature and cultural diversity.
One of her most notable works, MADWEAVE: The Brain Project (2021), was exhibited at the River of Life, Masjid Jamek. Her exquisite craftsmanship has led to high-profile commissions from global brands including CHAGEE, Vans, and Jotun, solidifying her reputation as a versatile force in the contemporary art scene.
