Beyond Fabrics
Duo Exhibition by Dani Omar & Yoss Yoseff
We are thrilled to present ‘Beyond Fabrics,’ a captivating duo exhibition featuring the remarkable works of Dani Omar and Yoss Yoseff. Both artists debuted their solo exhibitions in 2023, earning acclaim for their exceptional use of traditional fabrics as their primary subject.
Dani Omar’s work is a heartfelt tribute to the songket fabric, a gift from his mother. Through his paintings, he celebrates his rich cultural heritage and the profound bond with his mother. Each piece reflects the intricate beauty of songket, weaving together stories of tradition and familial love.
Yoss Yoseff, on the other hand, brings a unique blend of batik and Japanese fabrics into his art. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, which embraces imperfections by repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer, Yoss’s work symbolizes resilience and strength amidst life’s challenges. His paintings beautifully merge diverse cultural elements, creating a tapestry that honours the past while embracing the present.
Join us in exploring the exquisite artistry of Dani Omar and Yoss Yoseff, where traditional fabrics are transformed into stunning visual narratives, celebrating culture, resilience, and the beauty of imperfection.
