Fazreen Sukri

b. 1996, Malaysia

Fazreen Sukri is an emerging young artist who graduated with Master of Art(Fine Art and Technology). As a young artist, he takes pride in his artworks and now actively creates artwork.

He brings his interest in the language of his mother tongue (dialect) which is Kelantan into his artworks. This contextual displacement of the dialect becomes his motive within his creative process as he put himself playfully displaces his own self towards the language through abstraction in an intense repetitive and layering of text.

Thus a form of isochronous writing-as-scribbling-as-painting emerges blending into the neutral background of the painting.
