Syazwan Rahim

b. 1994, Malaysia

Born in Perak, Syazwan Rahim is an accomplished artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art from UiTM Malaysia. Syazwan’s work focuses on the desperate need for public attention on the climate issues caused by human negligence and ignorance, as well as the economic challenges faced by many.

Syazwan’s body of work delves into the resilience of ecological systems and geography, offering a genre that authentically captures the natural world. Using abstract elements and techniques such as lines, geometric shapes, contours, and collages, Syazwan captures the essence of the natural world. Through material exploration and conceptual depth, he creates a bridge between reality and emotion, skilfully conveying his experiences in nature and the principles of art.

Syazwan has participated in various group exhibitions across Malaysia; most recently he was selected TAKSU Kuala Lumpur’s annual, ‘Locals Only! 2024′ exhibition. Additionally, he was selected for the 2022 Hotel Art Fair exhibition held by the CIMB Foundation. His remarkable talent has garnered several prestigious awards in 2022, including the Malaysia Emerging Artist Award, Jury’s Pick Winner at ‘Art Against AIDS,’ and the Grand Prize at the ‘Mr. DIY Art Competition’. Syazwan’s work has also been collected by private clients in places such as Malaysia as well as New York.
