W. Rajaie

W. Rajaie is an emerging artist with a BA in Fine Arts from UiTM Malaysia. As an artist and designer, his work is his gesture as an artist confronting and grappling with reality.

W. Rajeie’s main medium is soil. In his work, the soil ‘poetically blooms’ with elements of chance, randomness, and an organic nature that emerges in a process centred around ‘togetherness’. W. Rajeie’s artwork deals with his perspective regarding the complexities and ambiguities of reality. Utilising nature as a frame, he engages with these perceptions through a romantic and poetic lens.

W. Rajaie’s works has been featured in numerous group exhibitions across the country, including Holes in Kuala Lumpur and Locals Only! 2021 at TAKSU Kuala Lumpur. In 2024, he held his first solo exhibition, Ruh Geluh, also at TAKSU Kuala Lumpur. With a steadily growing list of accolades, Rajaie has participated in both local and international competitions, notably being named a finalist in the 2018 OITA Asian Sculpture Competition in Japan. His works are held in both public and private collections, including UR-MU KL and the permanent collection of Else Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Most recently, his artwork has been acquired by Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur, where it will be on permanent display.
